Guardian is seeking a corporate development analyst at its corporate office in Auburn Hills, MI.  This position interfaces with business development and strategy team at each of Guardian’s business units in support of profitable growth through various transactions, including M&A.   The position offers the opportunity to join a team addressing key areas of global strategic growth other than organic development (mergers & acquisitions and investments in various forms). 


The ideal candidate will possess the skills and knowledge sought below but, of equal importance, he or she will be self-motivated, possess a positive attitude, and be a creative thinker.  This is a “hands-on” position that will work across the organization in a competitive atmosphere.  Working effectively with cross-functional teams is crucial for success.   


The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Valuation of businesses
  • Competitive analysis & benchmarking
  • Detailed financial statement analysis and financial modeling
  • Due diligence
  • Work with business teams to understand their business objectives and strategies
  • Debt capital markets activities
  • Support credit requirements of lenders and ratings agencies


The qualified candidate will possess the following:

  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills in a wide variety of settings
  • Exceptional user of Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to plan ahead, manage to a timeline and coordinate with diverse capabilities and teams
  • Ability to prioritize projects and to work independently and within informal project teams


Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field, Finance strongly preferred
  • 1-5 years of financial analysis experience – including financial modeling, forecasting, valuation, debt capital markets, or investment analysis
  • Critical thinking – know how to identify and concentrate analyses on key drivers
  • Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Able to take initiative with minimal guidance
  • Self-motivated to define and drive continuous improvement of processes
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills within cross functional teams
